What is your name and age?
Jorge Bedoya, I'm 30 years old.
What is your home parish?
Sacred Heart Church, Trenton, NJ.
What seminary do you attend and what year did you enter the seminary?
St. Mary, Baltimore, MD. First Theology
What drew you to the United States to prepare for the priesthood?
The urgent need for priests to accompany the process of faith in many Catholic communities in the USA.
Prior to the seminary I:
Attended the University of Antioquia – Colombia and got my degree in Journalism.
Some of my interests are:
Reading literature, watching movies, hiking, and spending time with my friends.
The first time I thought about a priestly vocation was:
In the middle of my career when I was studying Social Communication at the University of Antioquia, in Colombia.
How do you pray, what is your prayer life like?
The Eucharist is a central part in my life and is the best prayer in which I can participate. I also like to pray the liturgy of the hours and, particularly, read the Office of Readings. Another way to pray that I like is sitting in a chapel in silence.
What excites me about being a priest is:
It promotes a meeting between God and people.
What do you enjoy about seminary life?
I can learn more about Jesus and the Catholic Church, and also, I can meet with other men who are experiencing the same vocational process and learn about their spiritual experiences.
If someone is considering a vocation to the priesthood I would tell them:
Pray for clearness in your life, read the Sacred Scriptures, look for a priest, and talk about it.
A Scripture passage that inspires me is:
Philippians 2: 5
